Why See Chicago Symphony Orchestra - Verdi?

The visiting Chicago Symphony Orchestra!

Riccardo Muti leads his visiting Chicago Symphony Orchestra in a celebratory triple program, that places the music of Verdi at its center. Verdi's I vespri Siciliani Overture starts the evening's proceedings; this is followed by Many Words Of Love by Samuel Adams, which marks its NY premiere. The program rounds off with Symphony No. 2 by Brahms. Italian-born Riccardo Muti is the 10th and the incumbent musical director at the prestigious Chicago Symphony Orchestra, following his tenures at the respected Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Philharmonia Orchestra, Philadelphia Orchestra, and Teatro alla Scala.
