Why See Benjamin Clementine?
Troubadour Benjamin Clementine At Carnegie Hall
Victoires de la musique and Mercury Prize winning poet and performer Benjamin Clementine returns to NYC's Carnegie Hall to cast his musical spell this fall. From humble beginnings busking on the streets of London and in Paris' Metro trains, the troubadour captured the praise of critics with his 2013 EP Cornerstone and a phenomenal performance on Later with Jools Holland, garnering the endorsement of Paul McCartney.
Likened to Leonard Cohen and Nina Simone, Clementine combines a raw performance style with lilting piano chords, his distinctive, gravel-toned voice soaring over emotive tales of heartbreak and self-examination. Cutting an enigmatic figure on stage, his charisma and authenticity is undeniable.
