Little kids will enjoy this story of self-discovery and the true meaning of Christmas!
The iconic cartoon and comic strip featuring the Peanuts gang gets a brand-new stage musical in their honor for the holiday season by Chicago's very own Emerald City! When Charlie Brown bemoans the commercial nature of Christmas, he and his friends set out to create a special holiday pageant to rediscover the true meaning of the festive season. A wonderful way to introduce younger children to the Peanuts gang, and to explore the true meaning of Christmas! And of course, what Peanuts musical would be without Snoopy?!
Charlie has the Christmas blues; as he looks around him in the run up to the festive season, he is saddened by the focus on toys and commercialization that has seemingly invaded everybody. His friend Lucy suggests that he directs the Christmas school pageant to reignite his spirit; however this turns out to be a frustrating endeavor when everything goes wrong, even down to the spindly and forlorn Christmas tree that they rustle up. But with the help of Linus, Charlie rediscovers the true meaning of Christmas, and helps families about him regain an appreciated for the celebration beyond the gifts and the decorations!
