PAINFUL

Not much to add to what so many others have said. This is painfully awful, by far the worst thing I've seen on Broadway in 20 years. Are fart gags and bodily fluids "transgressive theatre" now, so long as you put in an anti-Trump joke at some point? If Nathan Lane is this desperate for money, I'd be happy to start a crowdfunding campaign so he doesn't have to demean himself like this.

GARY

Saw the show on previews.. Was anxious to see Nathan Lane. Enjoyed the actors but the show was awful and low class. NYC Theater tickets are not cheap. Think twice before you waste money on Gary sadly.

GARY

I can't believe this play made broadway - it was the worst production I've ever seen with neither performer able to save it. I would have walk out of it had I not been with a friend who purchased the tickets. Awful setting, awful dialogue, no plot--I can't find one good thing to say about the play. The producers should be ashamed at themselves for letting such a poor piece of work appear on Broadway. If you have the chance to see the show for free - do something else. You'll never get the 110 minutes back of your life spent watching this atrocity.

GARY

I could not believe any human being could think this play had the slightest redeeming feature. The only thing giving it any kudos is somewhere in the blurb Shakespeare name is mentioned. He will be spinning like the proverbial top in his Stratford resting place.

A WASTE OF 90 MINUTES

Boring and self-indulgent. Not even the fart jokes were funny. They took away the intermission to stop the audience from leaving.

BEST PLAY??? ARE YOU KIDDING ME??!!

How can the Tony Awards nominate this piece of crap for Best Play? It tells you more about The Tonys than about the play, which is exactly how most of the other 34 reviewers on this page described it. Wretched. Painful. If they had an intermission, most of the audience would have left.
