Bolero Musician Charlie Zaa Will Perform In New York
Colombian singer Charlie Zaa will play his popular bolero rhythm at Bergen Performing Arts Center this summer. The artist is not only known for his solo creations but for his exciting collaborations with Carlos Rivera, La Sonora Santanera and Leslie Grace.
The musician sung with the Colombian salsa orchestras Grupo Niche and Guayacán, before embarking on a solo career and switching to performing the bolero rhythm. During his accomplished 22 year career, which has seen him release 10 solo albums , Charlie Zaa has had many successes. He received a Premio Lo Nuestro award for Tropical Album of the Year for his 1996 album Sentimientos which sold around 3 million copies across the US and Latin America. He also had the honor of winning the 1998 Artist of the Year award at the Billboard Latin Music Awards and being nominated for a Latin Grammy Award in 2002.
