Why See The Monkees?

The Monkees are returning to the US this summer r, and will be hitting the Beacon Theater in New York , NY Closed June 16, 2011 , Dubbed "A Midsummer's Night With the Monkees." the lineup will comprise the surviving members, Micky Dolenz and Peter Tork (Michael Nesmith is sitting this tour out). Following the success of their 2011 45th anniversary engagements, the guys are back with a new album, Good Times (out this July), to celebrate a grand half-century since their show first aired - in the country that cemented their fame as the unlikely rivals to the Beatles.

Good Times will feature new material written with guest artists such as Noel Gallagher, Rivers Cuomo and Ben Gibbard, with producing duties taken on by Adam Schlesinger of Fountains of Wayne fame. A new sound in the works perhaps? We can't wait to hear the new tracks!
