Mary Kathryn Nagle's new play, Manahatta, is taking to the intimate Aspacher Theater stage this fall for a limited four-week run. Playwright Nagle is a member of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma and an attorney who specializes in tribal sovereignty. The show will be directed by Laurie Woolery and will star Elizabeth Frances and Rainbow Dickerson. A gripping story spanning hundreds of years, make sure you don't miss out on this thrilling story of self-discovery!
What's it about?
Manahatta tells the tale of a young Native American woman by the name of Jane Snake, who moves to her ancestral Lenape homeland of Manahatta for a job in finance. However, the year is 2008 and the financial crash is imminent. Jane's story follows her struggles to intertwine her heritage and her new life while looking back at the history of her people and the unfair removal from their lands.
