What did the critics think of Colin Quinn's Red State Blue State?

News Desk, January 24th, 2019

Currently playing at the Minetta Lane Theater.

Comedian Colin Quinn as stepped back onto the off-Broadway stage this month as he presents his brand new show, Red State Blue State. In this brand new piece, Quinn dives into the state of American politics but what did the critics think?

The one-man show has been favourably received by the critics with the New York Times dubbing Quinn as "He toes no one's line, yet he comes across as the kind of guy you might like to have a beer with", and The Hollywood Reporter saying "the comedian dissects the current social and political climate with his usual cutting wit and keen observations".

AM New York was full of praise for the 75-minute production saying "even if you disagree with Quinn, his fast, loose and furious mode of presentation is consistently exciting and packed with solid laugh lines and smart comparisons". The wrap defined the show as "the ultimate feel-good false-equivalency show."

What is Red State Blue State about?

No side of the political divide is safe from Colin Quinn's satirical eye in his new one-man show. Following on from his Broadway and Off-Broadway shows New York Story and Long Story Short, Red State Blue State ponders the absurdities that can be found on both sides of the aisle.

Red State Blue State is currently playing at the Minetta Lane Theater through to March 3.
