The Public Theatre score a win with Girl From The North Country

Following rave reviews in London, Connor McPherson's Girl From The North Country - a play woven through with the songs of Bob Dylan, opened at the Public last night to similar acclaim. Leading the charge was an effusive essay from Ben Brantley (New York Times) who, clearly moved, declared 'You may find yourself thinking that this is as close as mortals come to heaven on Earth.' Other critics agree; with Deadline calling it 'A remarkable piece of theater', one that 'is as eccentric and unclassifiable as any fellow traveler of Dylan should be.' A sentiment echoed by own own reviewer Kitty, who saw the show at its London premiere and proclaimed it 'an utterly gorgeous and heartrending experience at the theatre, one for any fan of new theatre, Dylan fan or not.'
