The Nap Wows Critics On Broadway!
Award winner Richard Bean's new Broadway offering, The Nap opened on Broadway last night to much praise from the critics! Currently playing at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre The Nap plays a limited run through to November 11.
The New York Times praised director Daniel Sullivan saying 'Delicious new comedy directed with an assured balance of blatancy and subtlety by Daniel Sullivan' continuing with 'The cast members shape their characters with just enough comic expression to stay credible and also to suggest that not everyone is what she or he seems'.
Variety was also full of praise for the production saying that 'There's something mysteriously appealing in entering the world of this pub-popular sport...Add high stake, lowlifes and a wicked wit, and you've got a solid win'. Entertainment Weekly said 'You don't need to know much of anything about billiards to get hooked into this witty play from prolific playwright Richard Bean'.
