The reviews are in! What did the critics think of The Boys in The Band?
Matt Crowley's iconic drama celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2018, with a band of all-stars (Jim Parsons, Zachary Quinto, Andrew Rannells, Matt Bomer & Robin De Jesus) the play made a triumphant return last night.
Officially opening at the Booth Theater on Broadway last night (May 31) the production was certainly well received by the critics!
The Hollywood Reporter said 'Starring a high-caliber cast of out gay actors led by Jim Parsons, Zachary Quinto, Matt Bomer and Andrew Rannells, the production is sharpest when the zingers are flying back and forth like missiles, but the anger coursing through the play's veins still scalds', with Variety saying that the production '...not only reminds us of where we've been, it also serves as a warning about whatever forms of social oppression are still here and yet to come'.
