A bit of a mixed bag for Uma Thurman and Co. in The Parisian Woman

Mixed Reviews for The Parisian Woman

The Parisian Woman opened on Thursday night to much anticipation with Hollywood star Uma Thurman taking the lead.

However, the cast and script were met with a mix of praise and some strong criticism.

The Chicago Tribune was not entirely complimentary to the star-studded cast which also features Philippa Soo of Hamilton fame. In their review, Chris Jones stated that The Parisian Woman was ""an endeavor filled with flat line renditions, uncomfortable pauses and live bodies that just cannot figure out how to move when they speak"". But, The Guardian praised Ms Thruman's performance saying it was full of ''warmth, wit, and empathy''.

Well that's what the critics think, and many Broadway shows have gone on to worldwide success despite their critical reception.
