Top 5 West End Shows We'd Love To See on Broadway!

These shows deserve a one way ticket to New York City!
Broadway is packed with electrifying musicals and powerful plays, but with London's theatre scene bursting with creativity, we can't help but wonder what magic might cross the pond next. While New York remains the peak of live theatre, it's hard not to window shop at what's lighting up the stages of London right now. From magical re-imaginings to genre-defying productions, here are five shows we're hoping will make the leap to Broadway soon.
Hercules
Bless My Soul! Adapted from the classic Disney movie, Hercules is set to dazzle London's Theatre Royal Drury Lane in the summer of 2025! Featuring music by the legend (and Disney favorite) Alan Menken, lyrics by David Zippel, a brand-new book by Kwame Kwei-Armah and Robert Horn, and choreography by Casey Nicolaw, this exciting new production is set to be legendary as it tells the story of the half-god, half-mortal and his thrilling adventures!
The buzz we're hearing across the pond suggests a godly experience like no other, we're preparing our lightning bolts and hoping it strikes down on Broadway soon!
Don't want to wait on a dream? Catch Hercules at Theatre Royal Drury Lane from June 7- Book Tickets (tickets available on our sister site, London Theatreland)
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
Following its critically acclaimed run at the Southwark Playhouse Elephant last year, The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button is now at home at London's Ambassadors Theatre. Based on F. Scott Fitzgerald's short story, and set to a winning folk-infused score that sees the multi-talented ensemble take up instruments, this wonderful and heartwarming production tells the story of Benjamin Button, who experiences the unique affliction of ageing backwards.
Could this unforgettable story be something we're craving? It's the kind of soul-stirring theatre that will linger with you long after the curtain falls.
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is showing at the Ambassador Theatre in London until 30 August - Book Tickets (tickets available on our sister site, London Theatreland)
Giant
Two-time Tony Award winner John Lithgow reprises his 2025 Olivier-winning role as Roald Dahl on the West End stage in this vital portrait of the author and his widely publicized antisemitic views, directed by Nicholas Hytner. Described by playwright Mark Rosenblatt as an "uncomfortably funny, urgent and provocative night in the theatre", the drama takes place at the height of Dahl's best-selling career, concerning the fallout from a book review, in which his dangerous opinions first became public. An apt subject for our current times, Giant is an unmissable critique of the beloved children's author and the contrast of rhetoric and opinion.
We're hoping Giant grows even further and stretches its legs over to Broadway.
Giant is showing at the Harold Pinter Theatre in London until August 2 - Book Tickets (tickets available on our sister site, London Theatreland)
Burlesque
Welcome to Burlesque! The iconic 2010 film is shimmying from the screen to the stage in this brand-new musical adaptation from original screenwriter Steve Atin. Set in a struggling Las Vegas burlesque lounge at the mercy of big-shot developers, the titular Burlesque is a titillating tale of rivalries, relationships, and revelry as witnessed by Sin City newbie Ali. With her own dreams of stardom propelling her forward, can her talents help to keep the club afloat?
We're actually surprised Burlesque doesn't already have a home on Broadway; we can already picture the neon lights on the Great White Way.
Burlesque is showing at the Savoy Theatre in London from July 10 until September 6 - Book Tickets (tickets available on our sister site, London Theatreland)
My Neighbour Totoro
The Royal Shakespeare Company and Joe Hisashi's multi-Olivier Award-winning My Neighbour Totoro returns to the West End! Combining the Ghibli joy, Hishaishi's glorious score, puppetry and more than a little bit of magic, this spectacular show is adapted from Hayao Miyazaki's film by playwright Tom Morton-Smith, with puppets from Basil Twist and direction from triple Olivier award winner Phelim McDermott.
For Ghibli fans and newcomers alike, we're dreaming of the day Totoro lands in New York.
My Neighbour Totoro is showing at the Gillian Lynne Theatre - Book Tickets (tickets available on our sister site, London Theatreland)
