About Book Of Mormon
Since opening on March 24, 2011, The Book of Mormon has become one of Broadway's biggest modern hits. The musical went on to win nine Tony Awards, including Best Musical, and later picked up the Grammy Award for Best Musical Theatre Album. It also claimed several other honours, including the New York Drama Critics' Circle Award, the Drama League Award, five Drama Desk Awards, and four Outer Critics Circle Awards.
And with fifteen years on Broadway - and still counting - The Book of Mormon remains not only the longest-running show in the history of the Eugene O'Neill Theatre, but also one of the ten longest-running shows in Broadway history.
The show was created by the unlikely trio of Trey Parker, Matt Stone, and Robert Lopez, blending outrageous comedy with a surprisingly heartfelt story about two mismatched Mormon missionaries sent to Uganda.
Over the years the show has also become a global success. Its West End production opened in 2013, where it went on to win four Olivier Awards, including Best New Musical.
