Scared Potter? Tom Felton to join Harry Potter and The Cursed Child as Malfoy all grown up

Tom Felton today cracks out the platinum hair dye as it is announced that the British actor will reprise his role as Draco Malfoy on Broadway in Harry Potter and The Cursed Child this fall, becoming the first actor from the HP franchise to do so. Stepping back into Malfoy's (polished) shoes, Felton will play an older Drago, now a parent to a teenager and a colleague of Harry's at the Ministry for Magic.

Speaking on the surprise casting news, Felton said:

"Being a part of the Harry Potter films has been one of the greatest honours of my life. Joining this production will be a full-circle moment for me, because when I begin performances in Cursed Child this fall, I'll also be the exact age Draco is in the play.

"It's surreal to be stepping back into his shoes and of course his iconic platinum blond hair and I am thrilled to be able to see his story through and to share it with the greatest fan community in the world. I look forward to joining this incredible company and being a part of the Broadway community."

A sequel to the original Harry Potter books, Cursed Child finds the crew in their thirties and sending their own kids to Hogwarts, where they get into just as much trouble as their parents did. Running on Broadway since 2018, Felton becomes the first member of the original movies to make the crossover, but we hope not the last!

When can I see Tom Felton in Harry Potter and The Cursed Child?

Tom will be playing Draco Malfoy from November 11 to March 22, 2026 - tickets on sale soon!
