Broadway's KPOP has announced its closing date and it's a lot sooner than expected! The musical will play its final Broadway performance on December 11 following 44 previews and only 17 performances.
The musical began previews in October and officially opened November 27 at Circle in the Square Theatre, but unfortunately the show cancelled many matinee performances due to cast illnesses. This may have resulted in their struggles with box office sales, which is speculated to be the reason behind the abrupt closure. But fear not KPOP fans, as the musical won't be wiped off the face of the earth - the show has announced an original Broadway cast recording album will be released early next year.
KPOP is a story about what it takes to really make it as a KPOP star... the unceasing commercial drive, the musical talent, and the incredible discipline required to get ahead in this hugely demanding industry. There'll be incredible multimedia effects, epic choreography and of course the KPOP music you've come to love!
