New play The Winning Side focuses on the worlds first moon landing. However, it isn't Neil Armstrong at the core of the story but the prominent yet largely unknown Wernher von Braun, a German aerospace engineer and space architect behind mans first moon landing.
The play moves between different times. From 1969 in America to 1943 in Paris to reveal and depict the true story of America's 1969 Apollo 11 moon landing. The new production also looks into von Braun's private life, delving into his relationships with the 36th U.S president Lyndon Johnson and famous creator Walt Disney.
During his life, Wernher von Braun was a prominent figure in developing rocket technology in Germany and worked in Nazi Germany's rocket development program before moving to America and making his mark on space and history.
