Chekov's Children
A provocative and rather delicious take on Chekov's The Seagull. The cast is superb, with a knockout central performance by the always dazzling Parker Posey. The last half-hour left me in tears. Loved this intimate, thought provoking comedy at Signature Theater.
It's Very Good
I enjoyed this production. Parker Posey was cast perfectly. Ato Essandoah was excellent. David Cale was pleasing to watch and Hari Nef got stronger and stronger as the play went on. Not perfect, but go see it. It's very good. Theater was very intimate. Not for children. Mom? Hmmm? Not my mom!
Who Thought This Was A Good Idea?
What a mess. One of the worst productions I've seen in a very long time. Only Parker Posey transcends and manages to bring some relief from the interminable navel gazing. Go if you have way too much money, are stoned and have nothing to do.
An atrocious take on The Seagull
I must say that I walked out of “ the Seagull/Woodstock†in complete shock. Shock because it actually got a standing Ovation .. I couldn’t wait for this piece of insipid they’re to end. ! It was actually an insult to my sensibilities and frankly a big Ho-hum. I guess they were trying something “new and ground breaking “ but after two And a half hours of watching a bunch of uninteresting people and their “problems†I was ready to run. If you value your precious time do not bother with this drivel
Stay Away
Just awful. Script, direction, and most of the performances. Posey out of her league. Actor playing Nina only redeeming thing about the production. Should have left at intermission.
Seagull/Woodstock
Worst play I’ve seen in years
