Mediocrre musical with 5 star performance from Chenowith
Chenowith is her usual amazing, fantastic self. So creative. So talented. She shines and the whole play is worth just seeing her. But Gallagher , although a good actor, was so off pitch on one of the songs that it was like nails on a chalk board. No one on Broaddway should EVER be off pitch like that. As for the play, it is a fun farce but none of the songs is memorable. We did not leave the theater singing or humming. Also, the audience was filled with people who were cheering for performances that were fine...not great but fine which led me to believe that they were paid to great buzz. It's an OK musical with a a 5 star performance from Chenowith. I was disappoiinted...
