What did the critics think of Me And My Girl?
Playing until May 13
Me And My Girl has returned to New York after many many years of absence, but did the critics enjoy it?
AM New York said that 'a feel-good show that leaves you at intermission with a smile on your face, a catchy tune in your head and a dance in your step' with the New York Stage Review saying 'Scrumptious, tuneful trifle of a musical...I doubt that anyone who saw it would be disappointed with the star turns in this concert staging, or with the wit and whimsy director/choreographer Warren Carlyle has brought to it'.
The National Review said that the musical's 'combination of 1930s-style gags and Fry's varsity wit keeps the show relentlessly effervescent, a dizzy dream for any anglophile'.
It seems that the critics were pleased after all!
