The Line Between Hero And Villain Is A Headline

Swapping the kitchen for the stage, The Bear stars Eben Moss-Bachrach and Jon Bernthal will appear in the previously announced Broadway bow of Stephen Guirgis' play, based on the true story of a 1972 Brooklyn bank robbery. Previews are set to begin on March 10, with an opening night scheduled for March 30. Directed by Rupert Goold (Tammy Faye, Patriots, Ink), the show will continue through June 28.

Known for their Emmy-winning roles as cousins Richie and Mikey in the Emmy winning comedy drama series The Bear, Dog Day Afternoon will be the duo's first appearance on the main stem, and they'll be playing the first time crooks Sal DeSilva (Bachrach) and Sonny Amato (Bernthal).

What Is The Story?

After being tipped off when a big cash delivery is expected at a Brooklyn bank, a group of amateur criminals decides to try their luck and swipe the payload. But almost immediately, their attempt is thrown off course, with one fleeing after losing his nerve, leaving the other two trapped in a hostage situation. As the police, the public, and the FBI descend on the building, the inexperienced pair become more and more desperate, but not before ordering pizzas and bonding with their hostages....
