Kit Connor and Rachel Zegler star in Romeo and Juliet on Broadway

With New Music from Taylor Swift and The 1975 Collaborator Jack Antonoff
Rachel Zegler from West Side Story and Kit Connor, known for his breakout role in Heartstopper, are slated to portray Shakespeare's iconic tragic lovers, Romeo and Juliet, on Broadway later this year.
The highly anticipated production of Romeo + Juliet, directed by Tony award-winner Sam Gold (An Enemy Of The People), is scheduled to premiere later this year (venue and dates to be announced). Gold, who has previously helmed other Shakespearean plays like Macbeth, Othello, and King Lear, aims to create a show that celebrates youth, hope, and channels the frustration young people experience in today's world.
Adding to the excitement, Grammy-winning artist and songwriter Jack Antonoff will contribute new music to the production. Antonoff, known for his collaborations with Taylor Swift and The 1975, brings his musical flair to the classic yet tragic love story.
The official synopsis states: "The youth find themselves at a crossroads. In a world marked by violence and uncertainty, two impulsive, star-crossed lovers hurtle toward their inevitable fate. The intoxicating passion they share quickly descends into brutal chaos, leaving only one possible outcome."
