Cabaret Sets Final Bow on Broadway This Autumn

Author AbigailAbigail, June 19th, 2025

Goodbye (for now) to a Perfectly Marvellous show!

After opening in New York's August Wilson Theatre in spring 2024, Cabaret will say auf wiedersehen with a final performance on 19 October 2025. But before the Kit Kat Girls hang up their heels, two familiar faces from the West End will see the show out - Billy Porter and Marisha Wallace will be slipping into the lead roles from 22 July.

About Cabaret

Much like in London, the August Wilson Theatre was completely transformed into a sultry, in-the-round den of decadence. The production took its cue from the West End's award-snatching revival, which scooped a record-breaking seven Olivier Awards back in 2022 and is still going strong.

With music by John Kander, lyrics by Fred Ebb, and a book by Joe Masteroff, Cabaret is based on the stories of Christopher Isherwood and John Van Druten's play. But make no mistake, this isn't your grandmother's musical. With choreography from Julia Cheng, immersive club design by Tom Scutt, and a hauntingly beautiful prologue score by Angus MacRae, this Cabaret feels more like stepping into a dream (or a fevered Berlin night).

The party's almost over, and this is your final call to come to the cabaret, old chum. Let's face it: life is still beautiful, but Cabaret doesn't last forever.

Will you miss the show? If you could see her, you certainly wouldn't!
