I WANTED TO LOVE IT
Some of the performers were excellent. The duet at the end with the two brothers was breathtaking. However the overall performance was weird and inconsistent. Some of the actors were on book (referring to the sheet music and script) while others were not. The end of the scene about China seemed incredibly racist. The show dragged and seemed WAY longer than an hour and a half. Worth it to see Raul Esparza and Brandon Uranowitz (both brilliant) but a bizarre and unsatisfying evening.
