The cast of this show was fresh, enthusiastic, and completely suited to their roles. I am
a huge fan of the original film as well as Cole Porter and I was utterly dazzled. The
actors made the characters their own while seamlessly paying tribute to Audrey and
Mr. Peck. Stephanie Styles was a dream as Princess Ann and had me in stiches as well
as in tears. I would definitely recommend this show. I will definitely be following this
show on the rest of its journey to The Great White Way.

Being a season ticket holder, I went to this play. It was part of the package and after reading the reviews I
really was not looking forward to going. But to my pleasant surprise, I did enjoy it. I have seen better
productions over the years but this play was not as bad as some other plays I have seen. It was nice to see a
production where the cast danced well, had high energy, and a simple story line. Not everything need to be
complicated. It was entertaining.

OKAY NOT GREAT -- GRADE C OR PASSING!
Musical fell flat on me. The princess and some other actors
occasionally mis-used the microphone and really screamed into it.
Princess didn't thrill me -- not natural when speaking her lines and
sometimes shouts. Scenery was great and music good except
when actors and actresses screamed into the microphones. The
musical and cast both need more work and coaching. Georgia
Engels was great -- knows how to work the stage and use the

NO ZERO STAR OPTION?
Unwatchable. And like a previous review, I debated about leaving during
intermission. Re-purposed Cole Porter songs felt like an afterthought;
never once do they further the plot. Instead, they are familiar but
forgettable interludes inserted to flesh out a rather basic premise. This
whole play feels dated and not in a nostalgic, feel-good way. Also the
sets, which broke down twice during the performance, are more
complicated than required. I am no snob by any means, and the SHN
season has been fantastic this year, but this cannot go to Broadway in
this form. Georgia Engel is a marvel, but even she can't save this turkey.

IT DOESN'T WORK
The sweet young cast gave it a decent try, but the thing simply
doesn't work. Dated stale jokes; forced musical numbers; simpering
formulaic plot; and a Disney-esque color scheme to the entire set
make this musical a must-miss. Additionally, the singers have voices
that sound like modern Broadway (think "Frozen"), totally
unconvincing in a 1950s theme, The orchestra played each Cole
Porter song at the same intensity, without nuance or variation of
volume, and the singing was the same way. I suppose a 10 year old
would enjoy this silly candy tale, at most.

POOR, POOR ROME : IT'S NO HOLIDAY
Buy an airline ticket if you want to see Rome, because this poorly
concived show is really NO HOLIDAY...So much has developed in
the American musical theater in the last ten [or more] years that
this dated show seems out of date [even as a musical from the
50's when the movie came out]. It's hard to believe that theater
professionals in 2017 would try to produce such a dated show.
Perhaps their looking for a tax loss. It shows a certain lack of
awairness of local theater goers that this was produced for a San
