Spent $92 and travelled to NJ with great anticipation. Spent at least 45 minutes
listening to two sisters whose every song sounded the same. Dull and woeful.
Rodriguez was obviously exhausted ... stumbling, fumbling....barely audible
commentary. The poor guy needs a full 5 days between performances.
Very disappointed.

RODRIGUEZ @ COUNT BASIE~APRIL 9TH
Was looking forward to seeing Rodriguez perform after hearing his music and seeing his phenomenal story on DVD. So disappointed in his performance where he fumbled and mumbled his way thru a tedious hour...changing hats an mumbling incoherently throughout the set. Mind you I was sitting in the seventh row and paid a premium price for good seats to be so disappointed. Beginning with his opening act that did nothing to warm up the audience. He played snippets of his better known songs and never go the crowd going...too bad. He appeared very frail and had to be helped on and off the stage...not a good sign that he will be able to fulfilled his upcoming dates. I was left asking myself why put him thru the rigors of touring if he can't deliver the goods promised. He obviously is too weak and feeble to continue as planned.

Severely disappointed. I missed the chance to see him two years ago
and my friend raved about him. I was very excited to finally see him.
The opener, Vera Sola, had talent but wasn’t for me. The second act
went by SK was actually Rodriguez‘s daughter and wasn’t on the bill.
She was terrible and thankfully only did four songs. I feel bad writing
that but if she wasn’t his daughter there’s no way she would’ve ever
gotten near that stage . As for Rodriguez I agree with everything the
other reviews have said. It’s hard to know what to think, is the family
dragging them out there to keep the money rolling in? Does he want
to keep doing it but nobody tells him he can’t anymore. The first song
was an Elton John cover and I had such a sense of dread. The audience
was clearly with him wanting to explode, wanting to sing along but it
wasn’t possible. It was all fits and starts, stopping to have his guitar
tuned, random thoughts, weak singing, spilled drink, dropped hat, sad
night

RODRIQUEZ AT LUCKMAN THEATRE - LOS ANGELES- AUGUST 25
I left the theatre last night feeling very sad. Rodriquez was obviously not up to touring.
He appeared to be drunk and so very frail. The energy was just not there! He fumbled
and mumbled, dropped his glass with whatever he was drinking, had trouble tuning his
guitar, and had to be assisted on and off stage. I love him but wish I wouldn't have
witnessed his fragile state.

COLD FACT: OLD MAN YELLS AT SKY
Rodriguez sounds and moves like he had a stroke. Love his music but having your fans have to pay +$60 for listening to an old, mumbling man who can't keep a constant tempo and often forgets words & chords is heartbreaking to experience. When you need two people to find your chair on stage without falling over, it's time to enjoy the rest of your life in comfort with good memories.

SADLY DISAPPOINTED
I would have been better off staying home and listening to his CD's. I'm not sure if
Rodriguez was drunk or under the influence of some substance, however, he
mumbled, had to start songs over, couldn't keep his rhythm at times. The
harmonica was just random blown notes. Rather than play his music, he played
others and that was not what we came to hear. He appears so frail that I will be
surprised if he makes it thru all his tour dates.
The opening act, Vera Sola, was horrible in my opinion. All her songs sounded the
same and came across a a female with major issues. Not enjoyable at all.
Spend your money on a Rodriguez CD rather than a concert that will surely
disappoint.

DISAPOINTED @WARFIELD THEATER SIXTO RODRIGUEZ
Performed for barely an hour when he was billed to perform for 2 hours. Rambled largely incoherently (mumbled, slurred, disjointed). I fear he may have been drunk. Really disappointed because I love and indeed revere his music. I liked the message when I could make it out, but I was left wanting to hear the songs. He didn't play my 3 favorite songs (Cause, I Think of You, Sandrevan Lullaby) and yet covered about a half a dozen songs from The Doors Light My Fire to Jefferson Airplanes Somebody to Love. With so much rich material, why? Short show, rambling and not playing his own music.
