Young, Funny, and Black
At only 37 years of age, multi-talented rapper/poet, dancer, DJ, actress, musician, radio personality, author, screenwriter, artist, and comedian Amanda Seales has accomplished much over the course of her twenty-year career. Recently making history as the second African American to have her own comedy special on HBO (following fellow pioneer Wanda Sykes), Seales presents her brand new tour with a difference, Smart, Funny, and Blac - U Kno The Vibeonics: 101 Tour!
In this brand new comedy come game show Seales invites fellow comedians to compete against each other on their knowledge of black history, black culture and the black experience. By the end of this fun fuelled, music-filled night one guest will take their place in the "Illustrious League of Master Blacksperts."
Seales shines a light on the experiences of black women in America and explores the constant barrage of often unintentional micro-aggressions, all too casual colloquialisms and flippant, frequent catcalling-in-disguise-as-compliments she and other 30-something women of color face every day. Funny, entertaining and adept at calling out societal inequalities in a courageous and intelligent way, this tour-de-force performer represents a brighter and more equal future in comedy.
