Powerful and timely play
The best kind of serious English theatre. No bells, no whistles, the drama is all in a tight, beautifully written script, brought to life by superb acting. The tension builds steadily as intertwined complex human relationships are unveiled in twists and turns - set against a background of the kind of nuclear disaster we are already sadly familiar with. Highly recommended for anyone serious about good, challenging drama - not for anyone seeking a lighthearted night out.
The Children - a bore
Facile (in a bad way) dialogue. People of no interest (do we really need to drink to become 'profound'?) The old 'cheat on the good wife' script. Should there be a debate as to whether Rose did Number One or Number Two in the loo? Boring. In addition, we could not hear Rose much of the time. My wife and I left after an hour. Do not waste your money. Nor your time.
