My husband and I just saw Greater CLEMENTS. We are fairly frequent theater goers in New York. We both felt that this was one of the best contemporary work we had seen in a long time. Rarely had I been brought close to tears, or been so riveted by the unfolding of the fate of a group of people I felt I got to know deeply. Old fashioned only in the sense that, unlike so many, this play unfolds an entire history of a place and the people inhabiting it; it has, so to speak, a beginning, a middle, and as much of an end as the human condition permits. The direction is seamless, the scenic design is inventive and serves the play superbly, but most of all, the actors, one and all, make one understand why anyone would go into this difficult profession. Brilliantly done!

Well acted. Performance is too long. Grwater Clements has the makings of a good drama but it drags out the emotional build up to the point the audience loses interest. Maybe it’s our fast moving society that makes us want quicker but a tighter pace would help a lot.
