Banana Spheel represents Vaudville well

Saw this great show two nights in a row. My husband and I thought it was great. This hard working cast has reworked the show over and over and they are performing magnificently. Clowns knit the acts together. There is a good story line with the clowns that comes to a culmination. It is planned and designed to be a take off on vaudeville and is expected to be different. That was the plan. Enjoy it for the perfection of the talent there to entertain you. Great value. Jackie and Alex

not the Cirque we want to see

My wife and I are Cirque fanatics. We have seen almost every show in the states and loved them all whether permanent or traveling venues. Of course some were better than others but not this one! We were anxious to see Banana Shpeel but sorry we did. In all fairness a few of the acts were well done and the rogue clowns worked their tails off . This is not the Cirque we want to see. Stick to what you've done better than any other. Looking forward to "OVO" on Randall's Island in two weeks....

An unacceptable joke ruins great performances

Beautiful colors. Well-trained performers. Good live music. One unacceptable joke; a deaf puppet. One of the clowns talk to what he calls "a deaf puppet" saying "he is deaf, how are you doing?". And moves the puppet's hands (sign languages) and says "he is fine." And continues. I was about to throw up watching at not a few "healthy" people were laughing at this unacceptable joke. I think even deaf people can totally enjoy this show especially because of the amazingly beautiful colors and performances. Hey Cirque, are you laughing at these people? Delete this part.

A Huge Disappointment

Despite three worthwhile acts (the foot juggler, the Russian pole acrobat and the contortionists), this show was an overall bomb. The other characters and acts were filler material at best. There was absolutely no emotion or soul present; much, much different than other CDS performances. I doubt it will even make it to opening night. Save your time and money.
