The latest chapter in the Harry Potter series was co-created and first premiered at London's Palace Theatre in July 2016 before storming the Broadway scene in 2018. Although she oversaw the production's script, the play was written by Jack Thorne.
2. It used to be shown in two parts.
The play was so long it had to be split into two parts. Both parts 1 and 2 are 2 hours and 35 minutes making the total runtime 5 hours and 10 minutes! The Broadway show has now combined the two so audience members can watch the play in one go
3. The script was released on a special date.
The script for The Cursed Child was released as a book on July 31, 2016. What is the importance of the date? It's JK Rowling's and Harry Potter's birthday!
4. The play is the sequel to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows'.

What's the story?
The producers of The Cursed Child want every Potter fan heading into the play to be surprised by its twists and turns, so we won't reveal too much. We can say that Harry, Ron and Hermoine are now all in their late 30s, married with kids and respectfully employed. Harry and Ginny's son Albus is just starting his first term at Hogwarts, yet his father's reputation hangs heavy around his neck, and he resents being only known as the son of The Boy Who Lived.
