Last night's glittering Tony Awards saw big wins for musical frontrunners Kimberly Akimbo and Some Like It Hot, with less than predicted gains for fan favorites Sweeney Todd, Into The Woods, and New York, New York. On the play side, Suza-Lori Parks' Topdog/underdog was the Best Play Revival. Tom Stoppard's deeply personal family drama Leopoldstadt took home the Best New Play award alongside Best Featured Actor in a Play for Brandon Uranowitz. Jodie Comer repeated her Olivier success with the gong for Best Actress in a Play for Prima Facie and history was made when non-binary actors J. Harrison Gee and Alex Newell scooped the big musical acting prizes for Some Like it Hot and Shucked respectively!
