Robert Moses, the man who built New York as we know it today has his life and legacy dramatised in a brand new rock musical! Bulldozer follows the life of Moses, from young idealist whose dream was to build the greatest city in the world to corrupt enemy of the people. A staggering story of accomplishment and personal defeat, Bulldozer charts the rise and fall of one man as he builds the greatest city in the world.
Born just two blocks away from the infamous Yale university Robert Moses quickly rose through the ranks of the New York council in the mid-twentieth century. His bright ideas and obvious charm allowed him to have access to some of the biggest budgets in the US. After the Great Depression Moses was one of the few who secured funding to start re-building a city that had been lost to the biggest financial disaster in history.
His most notable work includes the Brooklyn Battery Bridge, the aid in the planning and building the Lincoln Center as well as various express-ways which make up the New York City we know and love today.
Directed by the wonderful Karen Carpenter with book, music and lyrics by Peter Galperin this brand new musical is sure to rock the very foundations New York is built on!
