Why See Stalking the Bogeyman?
In 2004, journalist David Holthouse's article Stalking the Bogeyman was published in the Denver Westword paper. In it, Holthouse detailed his meticulous plotting to kill the child molester who had raped him when he was seven. He purchased a gun and a silencer, but pulled back from the brink. His story was featured on the This American Life podcast and in 2013 Markus Potter's stage adaptation premiered in North Carolina, earning rave reviews, with Citizen-Times.com hailing it as "creepy but powerful". Making its off-Broadway premiere with The New York Rep, Potter's adaptation shapes Holthouse's story into a compelling and twisting thriller.
