Why See American Ballet Theatre - Her Notes?
Jessica Lang's 2016 ballet returns
First premiering in 2016 by choreographer Jessica Lang, Her Notes returns as part of a packed mixed repertory program. A visual artist first and foremost, Lang's extraordinary career has seen her carry out commissions for the American Ballet Theatre, including this newest work of "visual music", drawing inspiration from the oft-overlooked sister of composer Felix Mendelssohn, Fanny, herself an accomplished composer and pianist who wrote over 460 pieces of music during her lifetime.
This work is accompanied by Thirteen Diversions, Serenade after Plato's Symposium, Other Dances, Souvenir d'un lieu cher, Millepied World Premiere, Ratmansky World Premiere Daphnis and Chloe, and Elegy pas de deux.
