His beloved NY Phil lead his centennial celebrations with a series of concerts!
What would have been Leonard Bernstein's 100th birthday falls in 2018, and what better way to honor him than a full orchestral concert by the New York Philharmonic, performing his best-loved works? Conducted by both Alan Gilbert and Leonard Slatkin, prepare to celebrate the life and culturally important work of the legendary composer - some of which transformed musical theater forever.
As the Phil's past Music Director, it seems only fitting that they lead the celebrations for a man who created the likes of West Side Story, arguably the musical that set the standard for its more modern descendants.
