A glorious evening of the Czech composer
Who better to interpret the works of one of the greatest Czech composers than the esteemed orchestra of his native home, the one he himself conducted over 120 years ago? Join the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra as they make a welcome return stateside with an evening of two of the composer's most beautiful works, displaying his signature vibrancy and lush lyricism as seen throughout his career.
Program
Cello Concerto
The evening begins with a recital of Dvorak's Cello Concerto, often considered to be the finest of its type ever written. Alisa Wielerstein will lead the orchestra as she traverses its unforgettable beauty.
Symphony No.2
Saved from destruction by Dvorak's roommate, his second Symphony was only performed once in the composer's lifetime, but remains one of his most imaginative and expressive works.
