The wickedly funny Ruthless is revived at St Luke's in a newly reimagined form. Condensing the show into a tight 90 minutes, the musical's original director Joel Paley returns to helm this tale of frighteningly ambitious child stars and their pushy parents, which in the age of Honey Boo Boo seems more prescient than ever!
With music & lyrics by Paley and a score from Marvin Laird, Ruthless follows the increasingly extreme efforts of talented tot Tina Denmark to land the lead role in her school play. The musical originally opened at the Players Theatre in 1993, where it won the Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Off-Broadway Musical, and featured Britney Spears and Natalie Portman amongst the understudies!
