Why See Dogfight?

Based on Bob Comfort?s screenplay for the movie of the same name, Dogfight commences full of the youthful arrogance and mean-spirited fun teenage boys are known for, but soon descends into a memorable, and often bitter-sweat, romance. Part of the musical's heart-felt appeal comes from the boys' innocent and sometimes jovial discussions on their imminent departure for Vietnam, which the audience watches through eyes jaded by the dark history of that war. The victim of the 'dogfight', Rose, is played stunningly well by Lindsay Mendez, who brings about a feminine grace and softer romance to the musical.
