A Parallelogram

July 11-August 20, 2017

First premiering at Chicago's Steppenwolf Theatre in 2010, Bruce Norris' surreal comedy arrives Off-Broadway this summer for its first transfer. Helmed by returning Michael Greif, who previously directed Steven Levenson, Benj Pasek, and Justin Pau's Dear Evan Hansen, Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey's Next to Normal at the venue, this work marks his fourth collaboration with Second Stage Theatre. We follow a young woman, Bee, who is convinced of her own precognitive abilities, and sets out to reinvent her future using just a remote control.

Torch Song

Opens September 6, 2017

Harvey Fierstein's Torch Song was originally written as a trilogy of three plays, but is now more commonly performed as one play in three acts. Centering around a gay Jewish drag performance artist and torch singer as he searches for love, purpose, and family, this epic, four-hour work focuses on three different periods in Arnold's turbulent life. Dealing with heartbreak, bigotry from close quarters and raising a family, this touching drama first premiered in 1978, Off-Off Broadway. Torch Song will be helmed by Moises Kaufman and star Michael Urie, the Drama Desk, Lucille Lortel and LA Critics Award winning actor of Buyer & Cellar.

Mary Page Marlowe

Opens June 5, 2018

Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Tracy Letts returns with his brand-new drama Mary Page Marlowe in the summer of 2018, having premiered at Chicago's Steppenwolf in 2016. With his works August: Osage County, Linda Vista and The Minutes all having been staged at the esteemed theatre group, this New York transfer follows the life story of one woman in Ohio, through 12 different periods of her life. Played by 11 different actresses, Mary is a meek accountant in Ohio with two children, living a life that few would expect to be as intricate or moving as it is.
