The course of true love and life never did run smooth...
An exciting original Off Broadway production comes to the Lion Theatre at Theatre Row in the form of 'Melissa's Choice'. Born of a collaboration between writer and principal of NY's Golden Squirrel Theatre Steven Somkin and the Artistic Director of the Worcester Shakespeare Company Mel Cobb, this intellectual drama, whose tagline reads 'An American Dilemma', boldly explores one woman's self discovery in the face of overwhelming personal obstacles.
Melissa, a feisty advocate of women's rights and population control, finds herself in a moral quandary when she falls pregnant by her ecologist lover Tad. While she desires to keep the baby, Tad isn't ready to be a father. Once he leaves the campsite they've set up in the Oregan Woods, Melissa turns to old flame Duffle, an ambitious lawyer. While he doesn't share her political views, Duffle is willing to reconnect and raise the child as his own. As this love triangle emerges Melissa must revaluate everything she thought she ever knew about herself.
