A charming classic comes back to life in New York City!
A rousing rendition of the 1953 Broadway musical Hazel Flagg comes to NY's Lion Theatre at Theatre Row, bringing with it all the spark, wit and screwball antics of the original. Based on a the 1937 film 'Nothing Sacred' the Comedy Musical was written by songwriter and composer Jule Styne, a champion of the Golden Age of Broadway whose musicals are much loved and still revived often today.
The satire follows the eponymous heroine Hazel Flagg and the extraordinary circumstances after she finds herself in after being diagnosed with radium poisoning in her small hometown of Warsaw, Vermont. A down on his luck reporter named Wally Cook gets another chance to impress his boss when he sniffs out the story and is sent out to interview her. Soon, Hazel becomes a media sensation - there's a ticker tape parade and she's given the key to the city! Meanwhile it conspires that her initial diagnosis was wrong and she's as fit as a fiddle...
