THE FRIDAY SIX: Q&As with Your Favorite Broadway Stars- Justin Matthew Sargent

THE-FRIDAY-SIX-QAs-with-Your-Favorite-Broadway-Stars--Bryan-Terrell-Clark-20010101

Welcome to THE FRIDAY SIX: Q&As With Your Favorite Broadway Stars. Want to know what hooked them to a career in the theater? Their dream roles? Their Broadway crushes? Read on!

In this week's edition, we caught up with Justin Matthew Sargent, who is starring as 'Drew' in Rock of Ages- currently playing at the Helen Hayes Theatre.

What is the first Broadway show you ever saw?

Phantom of the Opera! I'll never forget it. At the end of act one (spoiler alert) the chandelier stopped midway on its track, wiggled a bit, and then continued to "crash" on the stage. It was very dramatic...

What is your most unique pre-show ritual?

Food. Always food! Most days there seems to be a table full of Schmackary's cookies. Call it.. carbo loading. Schmackary's cookies are ridiculously good. Schmackary's should be a Rock of Ages sponsor. Schmackary's.

What is your most memorable "the show must go on" moment?

Just recently, a woman in the front row put two Jell-o shots by my feet while I was sitting on stage. It was the "date" scene with Drew and Sherrie. She kept pushing them closer and closer to me, and the rest of the audience was starting to become aware of what she was doing. So, I did what any thirsty actor would do. I grabbed them, acting surprised by my sudden "discovery" as if they had been left there by a magical jell-o shot fairy, and gave one to my co-star Kate Rockwell.

What is the one role you want to play before you die?

Tough question! There are hundreds of roles I could name, but I'm really looking forward to, one day, being a Dad.

Who is your Broadway crush?

You mean besides my amazingly talented co-star Kate Rockwell? Well, since Tom Hanks moved in across the street I've been convinced that we would have an amazing bromance. Come on, Tom. Let me buy you a Stella, some shrimp, maybe a box of chocolates? You can bring Wilson along! You know where to find me...

Where can people stalk you online?

Stalk away! I am on Twitter, and also on Facebook.
