Forbidden Broadway first graced the stage in 1982 at New York's 130-seat Palsson's Supper Club. Since then, it has traveled to over 200 cities worldwide. Gerard Alessandrini's hilarious production, renowned for its decades-long parody of Broadway and its luminaries, is set to make its Broadway debut this summer.
Forbidden Broadway on Broadway: Merrily We Stole a Song will cleverly lampoon the current and recent Broadway seasons, including satirical takes on productions like The Great Gatsby, The Notebook, Water for Elephants, Hell's Kitchen, and Back to the Future. It will also lovingly spoof Stephen Sondheim revivals, such as Sweeney Todd, Into the Woods, Company, and Merrily We Roll Along.
