Memorial Day Weeekend 2017

New York Philharmonic welcomes virtuoso violinist Augustin Hadelich to perfom Dvorak's mesmerising Violin Concerto, in a stunning triple program that also features the composer's rousing Slavonic Dances, before rounding off the proceedings with Janacek's haunting Taras Bulba, which was inspired in part by the huge death toll of World War I. An apt program for the Memorial Day Weekend, the concerts will be conducted by guest maestro Jakub Hrusa of the Bamberg Symphony, who also frequently works with Czech Philharmonic and okyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra.
