Horton Foote's Classic
Primary Stages Theater Company pays tribute to the great Horton Foote on the centennial of his birth by staging one of his lesser known gems. Not seen on the New York stage for 25 years, The Roads to Home is a typically rich, slow-burning drama from the Pulitzer Prize winning-playwright, who is perhaps best known for his Oscar-winning screenplay for 1962's To Kill A Mockingbird.
This Cherry Lane Theatre production is directed by Michael Wilson, and stars Tony nominee (and Horton's daughter) Hallie Foote (Dividing the Estate) and Tony winner Harriet Harris (Thoroughly Modern Millie).
What is The Roads to Home About?
The Roads to Home centers on three women, Vonnie, Mabel and Annie, whose paths intersect over the course of four years. Beginning in 1924 in Houston, we witness this trio's lives unfolding, taking in cheating husbands, divorce and the onset of mental illness.
