A starry line up to celebrate an icon
Iggy Pop, Patti Smith, Laurie Anderson, Sufjan Stevens, Tenzin Cheogyal and more gather to pay tribute to avant-garde composer Philip Glass for his 80th birthday at the 30th anniversary of Tibet House, his iconic cultural center and educational institution, founded in 1987 to spread awareness about the country at the behest of the Dali Lama.
An icon of minimalism, Philip Glass has been the Artistic Director of the foundation since its inception. Throughout the years the annual fundraiser has hosted performances from a smogasboard of artists from the world of alternative rock and pop, including the late great David Bowie, Debbie Harry, Sharon Jones, Lou Reed, Gogol Bordello, Miley Cyrus, FKA Twigs and many more!
