A tribute to Judy as only Rufus knows how
After very public battles with drink and drugs, Judy Garland reignited her ailing career in the early sixties with an acclaimed European and North American tour. Perhaps the most celebrated date was 1961's performance at Carnegie Hall, dubbed "the greatest night in show business history", which was later released as five time Grammy-winning double album.
A decade ago singer songwriter extraordinaire Rufus Wainwright took to the Carnegie stage to recreate that famous night, song for song, and now he's doing it again. With the help of Broadway musical director Stephen Oremusa, 36-piece orchestra and some special musical guests, he'll be performing 'When You're Smiling (The World Smiles With You)', 'Stormy Weather', 'Over the Rainbow', 'That's Entertainment' and many more.
