No season is complete without a rousing performance of Carl Orff's lustful and triumphant Carmina Burana and its showstopping O Fortuna chorus. Xian Zhang conducts the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra through this roof-raising piece, joined by the Montclare State University Chorale and soprano Jane McIntyre, tenor Barry Banks and baritone Hugh Russell.
Originally derived from a series of Medieval poems, Carmina Burana has become one of the most exhilarating live experiences to be found in concert halls across the world and as one not to be missed whenever it's performed. Also on the program is Bach's Oboe D'Amore concerto featuring soloist Andrew Adelson, and Kodaly's delightful folk-inspired Dances of Galanta.
