The Public presents the world premiere of the latest work from Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Suzan-Lori Parks. Exploring race in modern day America, White Noise focuses on a group of friends whose progressive ideals are challenged after an incident with the police. The Public's Artistic Director Oscar Eustis helms the production, with the cast led by Tony and Grammy winner Daveed Diggs (Hamilton), Sheria Irving and Zoe Winters.
Described by James Baldwin as "one of the most valuable artists of our time", every new play from Parks is a cause for celebration. Her previous works include Topdog/Underdog, for which she won the Pulitzer, and the epic Civil War drama Father Comes Home From the Wars Pts 1, 2 & 3. She's also written the screenplays for several movies, including Spike Lee's Girl 6.
